Responsibilities
- Provides support and problem resolution for corporate systems including Wintel platform..
- Provides support and problem resolution for Exchange and Internet mail flow.
- Works as lead or resource on internal and external projects as defined by management. Prioritizes assigned projects and develops project plans, requirements, architecture diagrams, deadlines etc and reports progress and status on timely basis.
- Uses standard Corporate IT tools to monitor and maintain systems and network as per agreed service levels tools include network monitoring solutions, server monitoring solutions, trouble ticketing system etc
- Monitors and maintains Windows AD domain services and architecture while recommending new solutions and enhancements including security around these services and core infrastructure services.
- Develops, troubleshoots, maintains core infrastructure services including WINS, DNS, DHCP etc.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and modify update edge switches and devices.
- Develop, Implement and troubleshoots, enterprise backup and recovery systems (Netbackup), replicated data topology and tiered classification of data (DFS).
- Develops and documents server configuration standards, security standards in the operating systems arena and network security.
- Builds, configures, replaces and troubleshoots Wintel server hardware and associated devices.
- Configures data center racks
- Monitors Heat server queues and proactively resolves issues based on ticketing system communicating solution to user and other team members.
- Updates server tracking database and works with hardware vendors to coordinate replacement parts of systems under warranty.
- Performs monthly server patching updates per company schedule and server responsibility matrix.
- Provides mentoring and knowledge transfer for support desk staff.
- Participates as contributor to defense in depth security practices developing appropriate security recommendations and implementations at the server, desktop and network level.
