Responsibilities
Responsible for managing and supporting high performance, highly available and mission critical database platforms. Company has a heterogeneous database environment consisting primarily of Oracle, SQL Server and IDMS database platforms. This position will work closely with the business, various application development teams, the IT operations and data center teams, vendors and external consultants in developing solutions to solve business problems.
- Reviews and designs database structures to support business requirements including logical and physical database modeling.
- Installs, configures and maintains database instances, creates various database objects, creates users with appropriate roles and levels of security.
- Develops and implements database security consistent with company’s security guidelines.
- Designs and implements database backup and recovery processes.
- Performs database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance.
In addition to DBA functions, the Database Licensing Administrator manages the license entitlement for Global SQL Server and Oracle databases while providing data management and Asset Management functionality. This position is cross-functional reporting directly to the Database team and matryxed to Asset Management. The role will require a firm understanding of licensing models and develop a strategy on how they will be utilized on a Global scale, and how they can best be leveraged to stay in compliance. In addition, this role will contribute to policy development and coordination of database purchasing through both Sourcing and Asset Management.
Implements Asset Management functions as directed by the company.
Provides leadership to the effort required to collect, organize, maintain and distribute related data.
Understands and enforces company’s policies and standards to maximize efficiency and support.
Establishes appropriate monitors to ensure and maintain compliance.
Establishes operational objectives and work plans.

Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related fields
|
Candidate Qualifications
Adept at using various database tools.
· Experience with Oracle and/or MS SQL Server.
· Ability to work both individually and with a large team.
· Solid project management skills, effectively managing multiple projects in a cross functional environment.
IT Asset Management experience in a multi-site/international environment
Familiarity with Computer Associates UAPM Asset Management database and ITCM Discovery tools
3+ years IT experience.
1+ years of experience in license management, focused on software contracts and maintenance agreements.
1+ years of database administration and/or database development experience
